Benefits of appropriate bedtimes

A new study from the International Journal of Dental Hygiene as reported by The Daily Mail shows that teens who stay up late are four times more likely to develop cavities. This can be accounted for due to lack of supervised brushing and late night snacking.

A good night time oral hygiene regimen includes brushing with a fluoride toothpaste and flossing as the last thing you do prior to going to sleep. Developing this routine and habits early will establish a strong home care routine. Parental supervision is necessary in this process. For additional tips about your child's oral health do not hesitate to ask the next time you are in the office.
